'The Book of Boba Fett' Chapter 7 Finale SPOILER Review: In the Name of Honor

After last week's excellent episode, fans were wondering what was in store for the finale. Many questions were posed in chapter 6 that had implications for the finale. Will Grogu choose to train with Luke or go back to Mando? What will the Pykes do next? Can Boba and his army defeat the Pykes? All of these questions were answered in the finale in an exciting episode. Let's break it all down.

The episode starts with Boba and Fennec looking at the damage from the explosion on Garsa Fwip's business. We don't know if she is dead or not but from the damage shown, it doesn't look good. Boba's mods arrive at the building and Boba says they should head back to the castle because it has great protection. The mods disagree with Boba and say they want to stay in the city so they can protect it. Boba agrees with the mods and they decide to stay.

We cut to Cad Bane talking to the leader of the Pykes and the mayor of Mos Espa. He tells the Pykes that the people of Freetown won't join Boba because of what he did to Cobb Vanth. It is then revealed that it was the Pykes that killed the Tuskens. Cad says he has an idea of how to lure Boba out and get his attention.

We then see a ship fly into Peli Motto's place. Peli Motto thinks it's an officer from the galaxy but it is someone better. Grogu is the one flying that ship and it is revealed he chose to leave Luke and find Mando. It was obvious to everyone that watched The Mandalorian how special the relationship between Mando and Grogu is, so it was no surprise he picked the Mandalorian armor and find Mando. Peli decides to take Grogu to Mando but what she doesn't know is they'll be arriving in the middle of a war.

Boba and his army are planning to catch the Pykes off guard before they attack them. The plan is coming to fruition when Boba receives a visit from Cad Bane. Bane tells Boba that the Pykes were the ones that killed the Tuskens. This angers Boba and he wants to fight but Fennec calms him down and says they will fight on their own terms. All of Boba's soldiers are in position but something unexpected happens.

Remember in episode 4 when Boba met with the crime families of Mos Espa and they said they would be neutral? Well that all went up in smoke with Boba and his soldiers getting double crossed. Soldiers from the 5 crime families start attacking the mods, Krrsantan, and the two pigs. The soldiers even throw the two pigs off a cliff. The mods are overwhelmed but suddenly Fennec arrives and saves the day like the badass she is.

The Pykes arrive at the building where Mando and Boba are. Boba sends the advocate for the mayor to negotiate with the Pykes. Boba writes a statement for the advocate to read and the statement says Boba is willing to give up nothing to the Pykes and won't let them run spice in Tatooine. After the statement is read, Boba and Mando surprise the Pykes using jet packs and the war is on. The Pykes outnumber Boba and Mando and start to damage both Boba and Mando. It seems like all things are lost when suddenly the citizens of Freetown arrive to help Boba and Mando. The mods and Krrsantan arrive too and start taking out the Pykes.

The Pykes bring out these super droids with force fields. Boba and Mando can't find a way to disable the droid. Peli and Grogu arrive to see Mando and are immediately chased by the super droid. Mando sees Grogu and gives him a hug which warmed every Star Wars fans heart. Boba arrives with hs Rancor and starts wrecking havoc on the super droids. It allows Mando to get inside and disable the first super droid. They are about to disable the second droid but Cad Bane stops them and uses a flamethrower to stop the Rancor. This leaves Boba vs Cad Bane in a Western style shootout. Cad shoots Boba in the chest but because of his armor he is still alive and well. Boba gets up and stabs Cad Bane and kills him.

The Rancor is on the loose and wreaking havoc on the city. Grogu goes up to Rancor and calms him down using the force. He puts the Rancor to sleep and Grogu lies next to him. At the Pykes headquarters, Fennec shows up and kills everyone in the room including the leader of the Pykes and the mayor. Boba and Fennec are walking in the city and everyone is bowing to Boba.

The final shot of the episode is Mando and Grogu flying in the galaxy and Grogu taps on the glass and tells Mando to go faster. The end credit scene is Cobb Vanth alive and well in the bacta tank. Overall The Book of Boba Fett was a show that wasn't needed but provided good television and furthered the story of Mando and Grogu. The biggest complaint with the show was Boba Fett. His character seemed weak and did not feel like the Boba Fett we all know and love. This series made me more excited for The Mandalorian Season 3 and the future of Grogu and Mando's relationship.
