Episode 9 of Severance saw many changes happening in the series. Irving B. is on a train to who knows where. Dylan G has resigned from Lumon. Mark and Devon now have no choice but to trust Cobel. It also saw Milchick stand up for himself against Mr. Drummond, which was probably the most satisfying part of the episode. We also saw more of Helena and Jame's relationship and what their relationship seems to be like. The episode still leaves us questions for the finale and theories that are still unresolved.
Is Irving B. truly gone?
Episode 9 saw a strange turn in the Irving B. and Burt G. relationship. Fans have speculated that Burt G. has been on Lumon's side the whole time and plotting to kill Irving. Turns out Burt is an ally to Irving B. and sends him on a train far away from Kier (which we now know is the name of the town). The question from this moment is: Is Irving B. truly gone? It seems like we won't see Irving B. anymore in the show. As much as this will haunt Severance fans, seeing Irving B. on the train with the sunset outside of the window was satisfying. Knowing that Lumon can't get to him wherever he goes should make Irving B. fans happy the character received a good ending. Can he return? Of course, but it's most likely this will be the last time we see Irving B.
What is Cold Harbor?
A big talking point this season has been the completion of Cold Harbor. Fans have specualted what cold harbor could actually be and what Lumon is trying to do with the completion of it. In episode 9, Cobel reveals that Gemma will die when Cold Harbor is completed. Cobel has seemingly turned into an ally for Mark even with her evil facial expressions, so I think she is telling him the truth. But, I believe there is another part of Cold Harbor that has not been revealed. Is Lumon looking for a way to get the whole world severed? That could be a possibility. But, I think there is an underlying thing we are missing with Cold Harbor. I believe we will be in for a real surprise when it finally gets revealed to us.
What will happen to Dylan G.?
Dylan G. went through it in episode 9. First, his outie finds out that Gretchen and his innie are in love with each other. Then, his innie proposes to Gretchen but then she breaks his heart and says they can never see each other again. This led to Dylan G. resigning from Lumon. Since his innie resigned from Lumon, it will be interesting to see how outie Dylan G. responds. Will he beg for his job back because he needs to provide for his family? I can definitely see that happening. We have to remember that he has 3 kids so he needs to work somewhere. With the promise of Gretchen not seeing his innie, he will be comfortable going back to Lumon. I don't see a scenario where Dylan G. isn't in the show anymore. It would make no sense to take his character out of the show espcially with the recent departure of Irving B.
Can Mark trust Cobel?
Ever since Devon called Cobel desperate for help for Mark, this has been the million dollar question on every fans minds. Episode 8 shows Cobel in a different light while keeping the character true to herself. After the episode, it is clear Cobel is done with Lumon and is now ready to be an ally for Mark.
Can Mark save Gemma?
Episode 7 was one of the most disturbing episodes in Severance history. The episode showed what is truly happening to Gemma. She was taken away from Mark and is being tortured with hopes of her seeing him again. Ever since that episode aired, fans have been hoping for Mark and Gemma to finally reunite. Will it actually happen? I believe we are being led to a huge cliffhanger in the season two finale. Just like season 1, the season two finale will tease the fans and keep them wanting more. I don't believe Mark will save Gemma in this episode. I do believe that Mark will eventually save her. But, in the finale I believe something will happen that will keep Mark from getting to Gemma. I don't see them reuniting until season 3.
