This week's episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi shows Obi-Wan trying to rescue Leia again. Leia was taken by The Third Sister in last week's episode. Obi-Wan was rescued by Tala last week after almost being severely burned from Lord Vader. This episode deals with the aftermath of those events and his journey to rescue Leia again. Let's break it down.
Obi-Wan is in the healing tank. He is reliving his battle with Lord Vader. We can see he has suffered burns on his right arm. Obi-Wan gets out of the healing tank and is scared. He asks for Leia's whereabouts immediately. He asks help from a smuggler named Roken. Roken helps with The Path like Tala. Initially Roken doesn't want to help but sympathizes with Obi-Wan after he mentions The Inquisitors. Roken agrees to help and rescue Leia.
Leia is stuck at the Inquisitors HQ with The Third Sister. The Third Sister asks Leia where The Path takes the Jedi. Leia refuses to give up any information. Obi-Wan and Tala sneak onto The Inquistiors HQ. Tala gets into the control room while Obi scours the halls looking for Leia. Obi gets some action and kills the stormtroopers easily. Tala gets interrogated by another Imperial officer but kills him quickly. The Third Sister sends Leia into the interrogation room where she plans to make her talk or she will die. Luckily Tala creates a distraction for Obi-Wan and Leia.
Obi-Wan and Leia reunite again. Obi-Wan fights off stormtroopers and Inquisitors. He even stops water from coming onto the ship using the force. Obi-Wan, Tala, and Leia escape The Inquisitors HQ. Lord Vader is upset with The Third Sister and threatens to kill her. The Third Sister mentions to Vader that she put a tracking device on the ship Obi-Wan was on. This saves her life as Vader is impressed that she did this. At the end, we see the tracking device is in Leia's droid.
What Obi-Wan Kenobi is suffering from is a lack of excitement. There is no sense of danger in any of these episodes because we know Obi-Wan and Leia will be fine. That is the problem with prequel shows. Even though a prequel series can be good, there is no sense of danger or excitement. Everything becomes predictable. This episode was a complete repeat of episode 2 with different circumstances. Again we saw Obi-Wan rescuing Leia while escaping The Third Sister. The Third Sister is looking stupider each episode. Her obsession with Obi-Wan clouds her judgement. The show hasn't even explained why she is obsessed with him. I see her dying in the next two episodes from the returning Grand Inquisitor. Nostalgia can only save a show so much and now the only trhing I am looking forward to is another battle between Obi-Wan and Vader.
